50rpm is about more than just putting on gigs. We have a strong ethical policy that guides us in the way we treat people and the way we expect to be treated. We won't book acts who promote hate, sectarianism, racism, homophobia or any other form of far right agenda.
We work closely with the Children's Humanitarian Charity Spirit Aid, the dementia charity East Kilbride & District Dementia Carers Group & local community charity Diamonds In The Community. We welcome donations of food for our local foodbank in Coatbridge.
We also run music classes for adults with learning difficulties in our local area. These classes are about more than just music as they are an important social meeting place which allows those who attend to make friends, gain communication and social interaction skills and just have fun.
We have a couple of tickets available for each gig that are available free for those in our community that would like to attend gigs but for whatever reason find it financially difficult to do so.
We strongly believe in community and that as a society, our government throught the taxes that we pay, should help, care for and respect those who need it.
