If you would like to play a show with 50rpm, there are a few things you should know first.
We are a not for profit organisation and are staffed by our members who love music, comedy and the arts in general. We receive no sponsorship or bar revenue, we survive purely on membership fees and ticket sales. Our capacity is 70 to 80 seated. Please remember this when if you are looking to play at 50rpm.
We do not book cover acts, tribute acts or cabaret acts. We only put on artists that perform their own materiial.
We have a strong ethical aspect to how we operate. We work closely with the Children's Humanitarian charity Spirit Aid, the dementia charity East Kilbride & District Dementia Carers Group & community charity Diamonds In The Community and are actively involved in tackling poverty, homelessness and the lack of prospects for the most vulnerable members of our society. Where possible we will always provide a hot meal and a drink for our acts along with accomodation if required but any additional rider requests will be at the artists expence and will be deducted from any agreed fees.
We like to support local acts and where ever possible we like to give any support slots to local acts. If you want to bring your own support, then we will try to accomodate them at your expense.
Due to the size of our venues, it is not financially possible to have a guest list. We have members who have paid to come to the gigs and they will always have priority.
We do not work with acts that hold views that are right wing, racist, sexist, sectarian or hateful.
Finally, we expect acts to treat our members/staff in the same way as they would wish to be treated themselves. It is nice to be nice.
