An intimate and up close evening with 3 of the finest singer songwriter in Scotland, Louise Connell, Adriana Spina & Marina Rolink.

Louise Connell was already making all the right noises under the name Reverieme with a string of rave reviews, festival appearances and playlisted by national radio including Radio 1 & 2 with her album 'Straw Woman', so it was no surprise that the praise continued when she decided to perform and record under her own name. Her epic new album 'Squall Echo Rale' has found its way on to many peoples album of 2019 lists and it is easy to see why.

Adriana Spina has been a recognisable name on the Americana live scene for some time, winning over fans with her soaring vocals and charismatic live shows. Her latest album, 'Let Out The Dark' has really shown what we all knew, that she is a fantastic songwriter. Radio agreed as she found herself playlisted across national radio, picking up both single & album of the week on Radio Scotland.

Marina Rolink's quirky pop tinged songs have ment that her name has been one to watch. Having taken some time out from music, she has returned back to both writing and performing with a bang, picking up a slot at TRNSMT Festival, Belladrum Festival and a support to Nina Nesbitt as well as a sold out launch gig for her single 'You Could Have Been a Genius' and her latest single 'Because of Love' found itself Radio Scotland's single of the week.

Line Up

Louise Connell is a Scottish singer-songwriter from Airdrie, outside Glasgow. Recording and performing under the name Reverieme, she received considerable critical acclaim for her first studio album, Straw Woman (2016), and her previous acoustic mini-LP Or Else The Light (2015). Appearing both solo and with various band line-ups, she has performed at most of the major Scottish music festivals (T In The Park, Wickerman, Belladrum, XpoNorth, Solas Fest, Butefest, etc.) as well as many gigs across the country both as a headline artist (selling out Glasgow's Glad Café at the launch of the Straw Woman album and following it up with two further headline Glasgow shows at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut and the O2 ABC2 in quick succession) and supporting the likes of Gotye, Newton Faulkner, Emmy The Great and American Idol's Haley Reinhart. She has also played very well-received solo shows in both Sweden and England, including a sold-out show at St John's Parish Hall in London in April 2017.

The Straw Woman album received support and airplay from various radio stations (BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4, BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio Scotland, Virgin Radio, Amazing Radio etc) with one song, Plankton, being chosen by Lauren Laverne as one of her coveted "Headphone Moments" on Radio 6. The album was also the featured Album Of The Week on two separate Radio Scotland programmes, The Roddy Hart Show and The Iain Anderson Show.

Louise has already garnered a considerable reputation as a songwriter whose notable skill with words is easily matched by her way with beautiful, haunting melodies. Recently her music caught the attention of the renowned artist and designer James Marsh, who designed iconic sleeves for Talk Talk and Jamiroquai, amongst many others. Having read the lyrics, James has drawn inspiration from the latest batch of songs Louise has written and created three thematically-related sleeves for the series of three EPs she will release in the coming months - Squall, Echo and Rale.

*"Reminiscent of a young Joni Mitchell, (Adriana) is gifted with one of those glorious aching voices that just don't come along too often... these are great songs performed with panache and passion."  Acoustic Magazine

"The depth of the album comes through its easy transference from thoughtful, longing beauty to potent ‘no prisoners’ expression. The music progresses through reflective thoughtful acoustics to gutsy guitar drive, power-percussive statement...‘Let Out The Dark’ is a visceral statement."  Folkwords.com

"Highly accomplished...Spina sits comfortably within the sphere of artists such as Mary Chapin Carpenter, her songs are modern folk tales set within arrangements that can be subtle or rock out with some finesse.." Blabber 'n' Smoke  *

With two studio albums to her name, Never Coming Home (2011) and Let Out The Dark (2017), Scottish-Italian singer and songwriter Adriana Spina's sound is often hard to categorise.

Having been a mainstay on the Scottish scene for more than a decade, she continues to write and perform tirelessly. She is a regular on festival bills including Celtic Connections, Glasgow Americana and Butesong, and regularly plays across the UK. She had the honour of being invited by Joan Armatrading to support her on the Scottish dates of her most recent world tour, culminating in a storming performance at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall. Joan is just one in a list of high-profile artists with whom Adriana has shared stages, having also opened for acts of the calibre of Sheryl Crow, Paolo Nutini, Eddi Reader and Dar Williams.

Adriana's Christmas single Sparkle was playlisted by BBC Radio Scotland and selected by presenter Janice Forsyth who described it as a “beautiful” single of the week. Let Out The Dark was also made Album of the Week on its release by BBC Scotland's Iain Anderson.

More raw and guitar-driven than its predecessor, Let Out The Dark features Ross McFarlane on drums (Texas, The Proclaimers, etc) is a collection of songs touching on themes from lost love and infidelity to atheism and the European refugee crisis.

Both of Adriana's albums were released on her own Ragged Road label and are available in a variety of formats from her website.
