King Of Birds are two songwriting brothers, Charlie and Stirling Gorman from the village of Elderslie, 14 miles west of Glasgow in Scotland, and were formerly the songwriting powerhouse behind the band Murmur.

2019 saw the release of King Of Birds debut single ‘I Hope We Don't Fall In Love'' followed in May with 'Hard Times For a Good Man. Both received exensive airplay. Finally they released their debut album 'Eve Of Destruction' in September of the same year to rave reviews from critics and fans alike.

'Eve of Destruction’ is classic, traditional, but also modern and wild – a truly beautiful album' - Maverick Magazine

'A highly accomplished record that would not feel out of place tucked between Nashville Skyline and After The Goldrush in anyone’s collection' - The Herald

‘More from King of Birds to come, it sounds great. It all bodes very well for them’ - Ricky Ross: Deacon Blue/BBC Radio Scotland

'A masterful piece of work' - Plain or Pan

‘Eve of Destruction’ might well be one of my albums of the year’ - Billy Sloan: BBC Radio Scotland

Early 2023 sees the band return to writing and rehearsing new songs for their second album, which will be released in time for their gig with us.

Line Up

  • 'King Of Birds' are two songwriting brothers, Charlie Gorman and Stirling Gorman from the village of Elderslie 14 miles west of Glasgow in Scotland. From an early age the brothers were listening to songs from their parents' record collection... the likes of Willie Nelson, Everly Brothers, Neil Young and The Beatles, were the soundtrack to the boys growing up. Formed in 2014, Charlie and Stirling began writing songs which would form the foundations for their first album as King Of Birds, which is as yet 'untitled' and in the latter stages of completion. Recording of the new songs began In spring 2014 at 45aSide Recording Studios in Glasgow with King Of Birds drummer Alan McEwan and Bass Player Stuart McInnes, (http://www.kingofbirds.co.uk)
