We are delighted to welcome iconic singer songwriter Ian Prowse to 50rpm for the first time.

** Please note we have a no talking policy when the acts are performing. If you can't manage that... don't buy a ticket and let the rest of us enjoy the gig **

The Merseyside troubadour, icon & musical hero Ian Prowse is an outstanding songwriter, guitarist, singer and performer. He is also the frontman of the brilliant Amsterdam, and previously the frontman of indie cult band Pele.

Ian is a modern day protest singer infused with a Celtic soul that binds Liverpool to Ireland & Scotland, taking influence from the songwriting of Paul Weller, Mike Scott, Bruce Springsteen & Elvis Costello. These influences and his passionate live performances have seen earn the nickname ‘ the Scouse Springsteen’ amongst his devoted fans.

Amsterdam saw success with their first single, ‘The Journey’, hitting the UK top 40, but it’s the song ‘Does This Train Stop on Merseyside?’, which reduced John Peel to tears live on Radio 1 because of its connection with Liverpool, the city he loved, as well as being the centrepiece of Irish legends Christy Moore’s No.1 album ‘Listen’, that captured the public.

Pele’s first 3 singles stormed the Radio 1 A-List, with 'Megalomania' reaching No.1 in the South Africa charts.

Ian is one of the hardest working performers around, constantly touring and gigging, having just finished a solo tour, a tour with Amsterdam and touring with his friend Elvis Costello as his opening act.

With a career that spans 4 decade, Ian is without a doubt one of the most electrifying live acts we have had come to play at 50rpm.
